Please note that placements are now full until January 2028
Sheffield Flourish offers a range of placement opportunities for students interested in mental health, community development, coproduction, communications, creative projects and the voluntary sector. Please note that our placements are unpaid.
Placements provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across different areas of our work. Depending on students interests, skills and learning goals, students may support community activities and groups, contribute to creative projects, help gather feedback and shape new ideas, assist with digital content and communications, or support coproduction and engagement work alongside people with lived experience.
Students will also gain insight into community-based approaches to mental health and wellbeing, learn about partnership working with NHS, voluntary and community sector organisations, and develop an understanding of how a small charity plans, delivers and evaluates its work.
Every placement is different, and we aim to create meaningful learning opportunities that reflect both the student’s interests and the needs of the organisation.
If you are interested in doing a placement with us, please fill out the expression of interest form below and send it to: [email protected]. A member of our team will then contact you shortly to let you know if we have availability for a placement and arrange an initital introduction meeting if so.

‘I have never felt so proud to be a part of a team quite like I have during my placement here. It has felt like every bit of work, no matter how big or small, has been important and has contributed to something great. I have formed so many valuable friendships, not just with staff but also members, and I have heard so many inspiring stories that will stay with me forever.’
