Peter Walker

My name is Peter Walker and I joined Sheffield Flourish in November 2022.

I have worked in NHS mental health services for the last few years, firstly at Sheffield Treatment and Recovery team and more recently within the South Yorkshire NHS Mental Health Commissioning Service. I am really passionate about creating opportunities for peer support within mental health as I have seen firsthand the real benefits this can have in improving people’s wellbeing.

When I was first introduced to Flourish, I felt a real vibrant energy from the place, partly because the walls were shaking from Open Door Music rehearsals, but mainly from the warmth and energy of the people part of this community.  As part of my role as Treasurer, I will work to ensure the charity has the funds available to continue to deliver the fantastic support and opportunities to the people of Sheffield.

I’m really excited to see what the next chapter holds for Sheffield Flourish, and I’m sure we will continue to grow this incredible community.
