Isobel Brown

Hi, my name is Isobel. I am a qualified and registered occupational therapist living and working in Sheffield. My background is in psychology, sociology and major trauma rehabilitation. I currently work as a clinical researcher for the NHS and I have received specialist training as an educator and in qualitative and mixed-methods research. This training means that I can support both individuals and groups in sharing their stories with the public.

I chose to volunteer for Flourish because they value the collaboration between professionals
and patients on projects as much as I do. I have been involved in this collaboration before;
sharing both professional and personal insights as a member of a lived experience research
partnership and neurodiversity advocate. For the reasons I have stated and many more, I
am excited to become a creative content producer with this charity.

In my role, I will be conducting trauma-informed interviews. I will always ensure the people I
am working with are at the centre of our work and I will champion their strengths. Due to my
background I am fascinated by narrative and activity-based interviewing but I would be very
open to learning more about other styles. I am especially interested in exploring the activities
people do to promote their well-being.
