Imogen Brammer
Creative Content Producer Volunteer
Hey! I’m Imogen and I’m a new volunteer here at Sheffield Flourish. After growing up in Sheffield, I’ve always felt closely connected to the city’s communities, so I’m honoured to use my skills to help tell the stories of the amazing people who make Flourish what it is. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling that helps people feel seen and understood, and I’m hoping my journalism training will enable me to portray people’s experiences with care, accuracy and creativity.
I’ve spent the last three years at the University of Lincoln studying journalism, while keeping my creative side alive through dance. Now that I’m back in Sheffield, I’m excited to begin my Flourish journey and can’t wait to start sharing your stories.
I chose to volunteer with Sheffield Flourish because I deeply resonate with their belief in creativity as a tool for wellbeing. Dance has always been my own creative outlet, and I strongly believe that any space where people can express themselves and flourish (see what I did there) is powerful for both the mind and the soul.
I’m especially interested in writing stories that explore how creativity helps people navigate difficult moments. This might include lived experience stories about mental health journeys, features on weekly groups or events, or pieces that highlight how creative practices support wellbeing.
I’m also hoping to learn more about community-led storytelling and how to support contributors who may feel nervous about sharing something personal.
I’d love to work with people who have a story to tell but aren’t sure where to start. If you’d like to collaborate, share your experience, or explore an idea together, I’d be more than happy to chat.
