Ben Dorey

Ben has been attending board as an associate since 2015, and has been a full member for three years. He has extensive lived experience of accessing mental health services, and latterly working within them, currently being the deputy lead for peer support in Sheffield Health and Social Care. He is passionate about broadening our understanding of what gets called mental illness, to incorporate perspectives from different cultures, belief systems and social justice perspectives. He also has written a PhD around these themes. In his spare time he likes techno music and running in the hills, and exploring wild places with his partner and his dog.
