Informed by storytelling techniques used in Storying Sheffield, Connected Worlds run art-based courses to connect people and provide a creative space for them to tell and transform their stories of everyday life.

The project helps build meaningful connections, solidarity, and a sense of community for people from various backgrounds. Connected Worlds has run several impactful courses and initiatives. These include Rotherham Flourish, Connected Worlds Sheffield,  The Way We Flourish, Mind the Gap, Suicide Prevention Stories, Spirituality and Mental Health, and Cross-cultural Stories of Radical Love.

The creative writing and poetry produced during the courses have been published online and in three poetry anthologies: Vision and Voices from Rotherham, Take Me Elsewhere, and Tunes of Enchantment which was launched at Sheaf Poetry Festival in 2023.

“This course has helped me to express through poetry a positivity and resilience in the face of difficulty, and for that I am truly grateful.” Connected Worlds attendee
