Oasis is a gardening and food-growing group that welcomes people from all walks of life. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a complete beginner, you’re invited to join us in growing food, connecting with nature, and meeting like-minded people.
📍Location: Grimesthorpe Allotments, Sheffield, S4 7EX

- Winter (GMT): Tuesdays, 12:30 – 4:00pm
- Summer (BST): Tuesdays, 1:30 – 5:00pm
- Extra sessions (summer only): Fridays, 1:30 – 4:30pm
🚌 Getting Here: Take the 97 or 98 bus from Sheffield City Centre. Get off at the first stop on Scott Road and it’s just a 3 minute walk.
🚗 Free parking is available on Grimesthorpe Road.
🌻 What to Expect
- A Warm Welcome: Whether you want to garden, relax, or just enjoy a cup of tea, Oasis is a friendly, inclusive space.
- No Experience Needed: We provide gloves, tools, and guidance—just wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy!
- Grow & Harvest: Help grow a variety of vegetables, fruit, herbs, trees, and flowers, in raised beds and polytunnels.
- Encouraging Wildlife: Learn about Organic gardening and help us to create a space for nature to thrive.
- Break & Social Time: We pause for a tea break halfway through the session—it’s a chance to chat and connect.

1. Do I need to have any gardening experience?
No! Oasis is open to everyone, whether you’re an expert or a complete beginner.
2. Do I need to bring anything?
We provide gloves and tools. Just wear weather-appropriate clothes you don’t mind getting muddy.
3. Can I just come for the social side?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to come for a cuppa, chat, and enjoy nature.
4. Is there an age limit?
Oasis is primarily for adults, but if you’re under 18, please contact us beforehand to discuss arrangements.
5. Is the allotment accessible?
Oasis Gardening is located at Grimesthorpe Allotments. The site can be accessed by car via a gravel track for drop-offs. However, please note that the paths are muddy and uneven, and doorways into our polytunnels have slopes or steps. We have tables for people with mobility issues or back problems to work at, as well as seating areas to rest and enjoy the garden.
Potential members are invited to visit to assess whether their accessibility needs can be met. We will do our best to enable access for all—please get in touch to discuss any specific requirements.
