What is the Crisis Carer Support Service?

A new project launched by Sheffield Flourish, together with Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, in support of carers and families of patients who have been admitted onto acute mental health wards, or are receiving crisis or urgent mental health care.

Is this for you?

It is for anyone looking after someone struggling with their mental health, including those admitted onto a ward.

What kind of support will I be offered?

Someone to talk with on a 1:1 basis for emotional, practical and wellbeing support. The aim is to create a safe and supportive space where carers feel seen, valued and less alone.

Who will offer the support?

Adheem Malik is our Crisis Carer Support Worker on this project. He will draw on his lived experience as a carer to offer understanding, emotional support, and help in navigating mental health services.

What to do next?

This project is being supported by the Synergy Mental Health Alliance, and in partnership with Sheffield Mind and Space to Breathe.
