Celebrating World Mental Health Day
Every year we run an exhibition that features work from the CAST art group, as well as the wider community within Sheffield. We’re proud to say it’s the 12 year anniversary of our annual exhibition!
This year, we’re very glad to be partnering with Sheffield Health and Social Care (SHSC) again. We’ve been over the moon with how many submissions we’ve received and from all walks of life too. The exhibition will showcase art from people with lived experiences of mental health, inpatients within SHSC, carers, and young carers.
The exhibition will be open from the 12th – 16th of October within the Moor Market and this year’s theme is ‘Urban Nature’. We’ve deliberately chosen these dates to be close to World Mental Health Day.
This past year and a half has been a period of uncertainty for all of us. Urban nature gave many of us glimmers of happiness and certainty throughout lockdown. Whether it was admiring nature around us, finally learning how not to kill our houseplants (for those of us that hadn’t mastered this already) or giggling at the news of deer, goats and badgers taking over our cities when we were at home to stay safe.
Art is proven to be good for our wellbeing. To celebrate World Mental Health Day come and say hello to us and view the gallery!
