Flippin’Mental Theatre is is one of the community enterprises supported by Sheffield Flourish, and is led by writer Kathryn Littlewood.
Regular groups
Flippin’Mental Theatre run regular drama courses for people with lived experience of mental health difficulties and distress. Their courses usually meet once a week and run for around 10 weeks at a time. Their aim to support people to have better mental wellbeing through drama.

Cultivating Mad Cow
Kathryn has adapted her memoir, Cultivating Madcow, into a one-woman theatre piece. In the spring of 2020 Kathryn worked with 6 people with lived experience of mental ill-health and an interest in the theatre to help develop the play.
Suicide Monologues
This theatre piece, based on a book by Kathryn of the same name, is made up of 10-12 stories under the theme of suicide. It was performed by actors online in 2020 as part of Sheffield’s Festival of the Mind.
